ICT University, USA yesterday (22nd October, 2022) presented Awards of Excellence to distinguished Nigerians for their positive roles and contribution to the development of Narural/Integrative Medicine in Nigeria and for their outstanding activities in the area of science education in Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
The event which took place at the R & A Hotel, Ikeja Lagos Nigeria witnessed the graduation ceremony of both Diploma and Bachelors Degree students of the University.
Dr. Darlington Okafor, the Nigerian coordinator of the University chronicled the rigorous academic exercises that the students passed through and the wealth of experiences they acquired especially in the areas of drug formulation and preparation.
The representative of the Honorable Minister of Science and Technology who also doubles as the CEO’DG of Nigerian Natural Medicine Development Agency Pharmacist Sam Etatuvie praised the efforts of Green Centre Academy in training the necessary manpower in the field of TCAM. He also used the opportunity to inform attendees that his Agency has become the first to have a federal government legislated school of Natural Medicine named Nigeria College of Natural Medicine Technology.
The Honorable Minister of Information ably represented by the his wife congratulated the graduands. She stated that she patronises TCAM practitioners and urged them to conduct themselves professionally.
The excellent convocation lecture titled’Euthanasia,the most contentious issue in medical jurisprudence’ was delivered by Bar. Oladoyin Awoyale Ph.D.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of Award of Excellence to the Honorable Minister of Science and Technology, DG, NNMDA, Prof. Adebunkola Oshitelu (Chairman, Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board), Provost College of Natural Medicine Technology (Dr Timothy), President of NUPCAM (Prof. Baderinwa Adewale and the Chairman of Nigerian Union of Practitioners of Complementary and Alternative Medicine Lagos State Branch in the person of Professor Gilbert Ezengige.
